Now I have seen for myself  how black makes me look I don't like wearing black t-shirts or black suits for work any more, I like to wear blues and greys instead.  If wear black it is usually on my bottom half. Joanne

As I approached another 50 something birthday feeling dowdy and middle-aged, I received an invitation to attend "A Stylish New You...I'd reached the point of no return, a wardrobe full of clothes, but I'd nothing to wear....at the workshop I learned lots about body shape and how to dress to make best use of what nature has given me. When I got home I was straight in to prune the wardrobe. However the pruning didn't just stop at Style, my appetite had been whetted for Colour as well....I booked a one-to-one colour analysis session with Julie as my birthday treat. Fortunately, Julie concurred with my own thoughts about colour and I didn't have to go back round the charity shops buying my clothes back. I had been ruthless in my pruning and applied the "price per wear" ruling of usefulness...The end result, goodbye to the former me and, hello to A Stylish New Me. I never realised why I didn't like wearing shorts - I didn't think they suited me.  Now I have learnt about proportions.  I either wear my shirts tucked in or wear shirts that are a shorter length.  I now feel more in control when I am choosing clothes and know what colours and styles look good on me. At a meeting yesterday everyone else looked drab in greys and black and cream - almost like they

Look Good, Feel Good Workshop January 2010 - I found the sessions excellent, I thought it was great - thoroughly enjoyed it, All interesting, This was very enjoyable with lots of visual aids, enjoyed all the colour and style, good crowd with lots of participation, A variety of ideas and practical tips, Just a shame we didnt have more time, The style bit was GREAT,

I'd like to say thank you so much for my Colours session yesterday afternoon. I found it so useful and it has really given me a big boost. You'll laugh, but pretty much as soon as I got home, I was upstairs emptying the wardrobe and drawers of the items I now know are completely wrong for me!  I so enjoyed my session and I have embraced it firmly! I'm converted and I'll be spreading the word.  Hope I can help you to help others!! It gave me the confidence to take the items that I always felt just weren't right, out of the wardrobe and buy/wear the colours that suit me - ones not previously considered....Thought you'd like to hear that I got the most gorgeous teal cord jacket in M&S and knew I was onto a winner immediately as the cashier looked at it, looked at me and said, "Wow! You're going to look wonderful in this!' I was a little taken back!...Also checked out the charity shops as you suggested - found the most gorgeous teal with fine metallic thread crochet knitted bolero cardigan - originally from Oasis but only £4 - WOW!    Going from strength to strength!! I must just tell you that thanks to your style session I was able to find the perfect long black evening dress in a second had shop.  We have a very dressy ball every year and last year I could not find anything that worked. I would not have even looked at this dress if it was not for your session. It was a crossover top going in to wide shoulder straps, a wide empire line band under the bust then a long draping A line skirt, it was so flattering and comfortable. I then finished it off with a black beaded crochet shrug to widen the shoulders and balance out my hips - all for under £30.00. Even Tim went wow !  I like that !!!  Michelle Sept 08

I found your [style] session really helpful. I went out and bought a dress yesterday, it's the first new dress I bought since a maternity one 18 years ago. It has an empire line top with a deep V and softly draping but fairly heavy skirts and it's so flattering. I would not have even looked at it two months ago so thank you. Even Tim likes it so I am all set for a family wedding on Sunday. I am still hunting for a general jacket...I know a thing like that is an investment and will probably work out the cheapest item of clothing in my wardrobe. I will keep looking and wait for the sales…I also got a really nice red panelled linen skirt. I did also finally get some new glasses last week.
